NTEU Efforts Delay Employee Parking Fee Hike
NTEU efforts to mobilize TSA employees against a plan to double parking fees paid off in a big way as airport officials have decided to delay implementation until March 1.
More Parking Details:
A plan to close Parking Lot D and funnel employees to Parking Lot E also has been postponed until March 1.
Employees can continue to park at Lot D in February.

In announcing their decision, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) officials said the delay would help them better address employee concerns about the increase. Since December, NTEU has argued that higher parking costs would be tough for TSA employees and many others to afford. Parking lot rates were set to jump from $15 to $30 per month on Monday.
“Airport officials made the right choice in listening to frontline employee concerns" said NTEU President Colleen M. Kelley. "I encourage them to take these plans off the table permanently.”
Join NTEU's fight. Sign a petition protesting the proposed hike and attend a LAWA public meeting with local NTEU representatives on Monday. The meeting is scheduled to take place at 1:30 p.m. in the Sam Greenberg Room of the Clifton A. Moore Administrative Building (1 World Way, LAX).
